Tender Princess
When a young and beautiful girl arrived at the palace claiming herself to be a princess, the queen welcomed her but with caution.
A room was made ready for her to rest. But to put her to a certain test, queen placed a few peas under her bed. It was then covered with more than a dozen layer of soft mattresses and cushions. In the morning, when the young girl woke up, she was having pain all over her body. Her delicate skin had been bruised at several places because of the peas.
The girl’s delicacy and tenderness confirmed her claim to be a princess and the queen readily agreed to announce her engagement with the young prince, the heir to the throne.
