The Poppy’s Riddle
A witch transformed a beautiful girl into a poppy in a field. Each evening she was allowed to return to her normal self and go home to spend the night with her parents.
One morning, before she went back to the field to be transformed into a poppy again, she said to her mother, “If you succeed in picking me, the witch’s magic spell will be broken.”
That was true, but how could the girl’s mother recognize her amongst all the other thousands of poppies. The answer was simple. Since the girl had spent the night at home, she was the only poppy in the field which was not wet with dew.
