When did the use of antiseptics start first?
At Until the 1860s, patients who had operations often suffered it and died. It was because their wounds got infected with germs. The use of antiseptics, the germ killing substances, to clean the operating instruments it t and the patient’s cuts by British surgeon Joseph Lister made the operations much more safer.
Alexander Fleming, the British scientist, in 1928 discovered Penicillin, the first antibiotic drug. Many other antibiotics have been developed and they have saved millions of lives.
