When did Magellan sailed round the world?
The first world trip was made by sailors in the ship ‘Vittoria’, owned by Ferdinand Magellan, a portugese explorer. In 1519, he sailed eastward in Europe but was killed while fighting in Phillipines. Most of his crew died too, from hunger or disease. A few survivors led by sea captain Sebastain del Cano, managed to complete Magellan’s planned Voyage and returned home to Europe in 1522.
