Where did the teddy-bears come from?

Teddy-bears began with the American President, Teddy Roosevelt, who was fond of hunting and brought home a bear cub which was noticed by a news-paper cartoonist. Thereafter he received many gifts in the form of Teddy-Bears which came to be named as Teddy-Bears. The name holds good even today all over the world.
