Brummell Beau
Brummell Beau nickname of George Brummell (1778-1840), British gentleman of fashion. He became a friend of the Prince of Wales (later George IV) at Eton, and after a year at Oxford he was the acknowledged leader of the fashionable world. He finally quarrelled with the prince and his enormous gambling debts forced him to retreat to France, where he died in a lunatic asylum.
