Donatello
Donatello, full name Donato di Niccolo (1386-1466). Italian sculptor. He trained in Florence, where he became a leader of the new Renaissance style and the most influential artist of the 15th century. From 1443 to 1453 he lived in Padua, where he produced the equestrian statue of Gattamelata and the altar in St Anthony’s church. His other famous works include the nude statue David.
