Kashibai alias Taibai
Kashibai, alias Taibai, 1744. Mahratha lady. She was the wife of the Mahratha general, Bhaskar Ram, who was treacherously cut down along with his party by Nawab Alivardi Khan of Bengal, on 30 March 1744. She was, pregnant at the time and her life was saved by a Muslim lady, who arranged for a palanquin and conducted her secretly to Varanasi where she gave birth to a son. She was later made the governor of Berar, by the Peshwa.
