Hermann Goering
Hermann Goering (1893-1946), German Nazi politician. An ace fighter pilot in World War I and an early supporter of Hitler, he became minister for air and the interior under the Nazi regime. In World War II he commanded the Luftwaffe and controlled the German war economy. He was sentenced to death for war crimes at Nuremberg, but committed suicide shortly before his execution.
