Mallintha
Mallintha, 599-527 B.C., Jaina ascetic and 19th Tirthankara. Daughter of the ruler of Mithila, in modern Bihar, she was exceedingly beautiful and learned. Kings of the neighbouring countries wanted to marry her, but on the refusal of the father, they all attacked his kingdom. She asked her father to invite them all, when she announced her intention to renounce the world and to become an ascetic.
