Pushpavati
Pushpavati, d. 770. Rajput princess, Daughter of a Paramara prince, she was the queen of Siladitya of Vallabhi, in Kathiawar. Only royal lady to escape alive after the sack of the capital by the `barbarians’ (probably Arabs)—her husband being also killed—she sought refuge in a mountain cave of Mallia and there she gave birth to a son, and then killed herself. The child was brought up by the daughter of a temple priest who called him `Guha’ or `Cave-born’. This gave the patronymic `Guihlot’ to the Rajput clan descended from him, amongst them Ba ppa Rawal.
