Kandahari Begum
Kandahari Begum, 1610. Mughal prinees,v, first wife of Emperor Shahjahan. Daughter of Muzaffar Hussain Mirza Safwi, of the royal house of Persia, her family came to India in about 1592 and was hospitably received by Akbar. In September 1610 she was married to prince Khurram (afterwards Shahjahan), the son of Jahangir. She is buried at Agra, in Qandhari Bagh. She is so called because she hailed from Qandhar.
