Roshani Begun
Roshani Begun, later 18th cent., princess of Mysore. Mother of Fath Haider, the eldest son of Tipu Sultan, she became a prisoner of the British after the fall of Seringapatam, in 1800. The governor-general, Lord Wellesley regarded her as a concubine, but her son claimed that she was his father’s principal wife, and had the right to claim a better treatment.
