Rudramba
Rudramba, d.1295, Kakatiya queen. Eldest daughter of Ganpatideva, the Kakatiya ruler of Warangal, she succeeded him to the throne on his death in 1262. Many chieftains resented a woman sitting on the throne and rose in revolt against her. She suppressed their rebellion and also defeated a Yadava ruler who had invaded her Kingdom. Rudramba was a wise ruler and built tanks, canals, and wells, and promoted trade and industry. The Venetian traveller, Marco Polo, visited important places in her Kingdom and has given a glowing account of its pros-She was succeeded by her adopted son, perity and industry Prataparudra.
