Tulsi Bai
Tulsi Bai, d. 1817, queen-regent of Indore. She became the regent to her step-son, Maihar Rao, at the death of his father in 1811, but the real power was exercised by the Pathan faction. She was suspected by them of negotiating with the British, and was abducted and murdered near the bank of Sip a river on 20 Dec., 1817. She was a woman of rare beauty and charm.
