Udipuri Mahal
Udipuri Mahal, 1667, Mughal princess, youngest and best-loved concubine of Aurangzeb. Believed to be a Georgian slave-girl of Dara Shukoh, she became the concubine of Aurangzeb on the downfall of her master. She became the mother of Aurangzeb’s son, Kam Bakhsh in 1667, when Aurangzeb was nearing 50. She retained her youth, and her influence over Aurangzeh till his death. Under her influence, many faults of Kam Bakhsh were ignored. Her son was slain in the war of succession, following the death of Aurangzeh in January 1709.
