Buster Keaton
Buster Keaton, stage name of Joseph Francis Keaton (1895-1966). US film comedian. The son of vaudeville entertainers, he began making silent films with ‘Fattie’ Arbuckle in the Keystone Kop series in 1917. One of the greatest comedians of the silent screen, he was out-standing for his stunts and famous for a face that remained deadpan in the most hair-raising of circum-stances. His films include The General (1926) and Steam-boat Bill Junior (1927).
