Bhabha
Homi Jehangir Bhabha was an Indian nuclear physicist. He was born on 30 October, 1909 He is considered as the father of Indian nuclear atomic program and played a major role in its development. He established the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Bombay in 1945 and established the Atomic Energy Commission of India in 1950. Bhabha served as the member of the Indian Cabinet’s Scientific Advisory Committee and set up the Indian National Committee for Space Research with Vikram Sarabhai. He died on 24 January 1966 in a plane crash near Mont Blanc, while heading to Vienna, Austria to attend a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Scientific Advisory Committee.
