Project Name : Earthquake Resistant House
Theme Name : Disaster Management
When earthquake occurs it is the building not the earthquake that kills people.
Hence the model is made to show that houses can be made earthquake resistant. A properly designed house can withstand the seismic effects sustaining the level of damage. Earthquake resistance can be achieved by following some simple inexpensive principles such as placement
of house, shape of the plan (structure), foundation of the house, quality of the materials used etc. Adherence to these principles may not prevent damages in moderate or large earthquakes; however life threatening collapses could always be prevented.
