Scientific Principle: Extraction of oil from algae by oil press, followed by hexane solvent method. To convert oil into biodiesel by transestrification.
Working: Blue green algae will be grown in a culture, under lab conditions with small aliquots, and there is further placed into a large number of small growing containers. Observe the growth of algae and microscope and then
introduce the algal sample to the open pond system, where it contains alkaline at basic water which excludes other orgainsms. The algae are ready to be harvested. The sample of algal can be introduced into the sedimentation tank for 3hrs and then the biommass has to be filtered using the filter bed.
