The Athlete who Jumped Too High
He was, of course, an athlete, but very ambitious and loud- mouthed. One day, tired of being jeered at by the spectators at home, he decided to leave his country and put up his show abroad.
When he returned home he began to tell his stories of success to each and everyone. He would say: “In Sydney, I jumped so high, I was out of sight. It took many days for me to return to the ground. It you are not convinced, go and ask anyone there.”
“Why should I?” said the listener. “Why don’t you jump out of sight right now, forever?”
