Get a good dictionary.
A good dictionary provides some important grammar basics. For one thing, it tells you each word’s part of speech (noun, verb, adjective, etc.). It also lists the past tenses of verbs-a helpful function since some verbs have more than one past tense form, and some forms are considered more “correct” than others. English usage examples are another handy reference. Many dictionaries show you how a word might be used in everyday speech, and some even provide the usage histories of especially tricky words.
