How do the fish living at the sea survive?
Fish that live in deep sea water are adapted to a life without sun-light and green plants. They feed mainly on the dead re-mains of other organisms which sink to the bottom. They have big jaws which are constantly kept open for the prey. Their bodies are specially designed to withstand the high pressure deep down the sea. To cope up with the darkness at great depth, these fish have light producing organs or luminous spots of light on their head. With the help of these organs, they Can find their way in darkness, recognise each other look for their prey or ever lure it within reach. Deep sea angler and the lantern fish are examples of deep sea fishes.
