How has telemetry helped people suffering from heart problems?
Telemetry is a technique in which an apparatus records the readings of an instrument and transmits them by radio. It has come to the aid of heart patients. Signals received from the pace maker about the heart’s performance are received by some devices which convert them into sound beeps to be sent along a telephone line to a receiver analyzer at eh heart clinic. A doctor can analyze these signals and give advice to the patient over the phone itself.
There is no need for the patient to go to the doctor’s clinic for regular checkups.
