My Favourite Game Essay

I like seeing all kinds of outdoor and indoor games like hockey, volley-ball, cricket, badminton, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis etc. I know how to play a few of them. But football is my favourite game. Football is famous throughout the world. No other game is as popular as football followed by cricket. My brother is also fond of seeing football matches.

It is played between two teams of eleven players each. A footballer should have a good stamina, willpower and strength. In a football team there are forwards, half and full backs and goalkeeper. The regular practice is also a must. The forwards have to be fast and clever to steer the ball through the legs of the opponents. The half-backs not only defend but also help the forward in scoring a goal, Fullbacks must be strong like a solid wall. The goalkeeper plays a very important role in the game.

Football is a very tough game. It requires a lot of running and jumping. A lover of football should have great amount of energy. It is a-game full of excitement and entertainment. I play football daily. In our school, there is a coach to guide and help us.’ There is a referee to conduct ‘the match. The decision of a referee is final in case of a dispute.

The daily practice of football keeps me physically fit and mentally alert. It helps develop the strong body. I have represented my school both as a player and a captain. I can play in any position, but forward and full back are my two very favourite positions that I like to play at.
