Subhash Chandra Bose
He was born on 23rd January 1897 in Cuttack. Subhash Chandra Bose, commonly known as Netaji, was one of the most vigorous activists during the pre-independence era.He had a strong influence of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and was famous for his patriotic zeal as a student. He joined the Indian Civil Services in England and later joined the Indian National Congress. The Indian National Army was formed under his leadership.Netaji was the leader of the youth wing of the Congress party and went to jail for around 11 times. He was elected president of the Indian National Congress twice in 1937 and in 1939. He is believed to have died on 18 August 1945 in a plane crash.
