Aisha Sultan Begum
Aisha Sultan Begum, fl. early 16th cent., first wife of Babar. First cousin of Babar, she was betrothed to him in 1488/9 at Samarquand when he was only five years old. The marriage took place in March 1500. In 1501 she gave birth to a daughter, Fakhr-un-Nissa, who was Babar’s first child. She left Babar in 1503 when he was still a boy-king of Ferghana.
