Bina Das
Bina Das, 1911, revolutionary. Daughter of Sarla and Benimadhav Das of Calcutta, she took a prominent part in the demonstration against the Simon Commission, and served as a Congress volunteer during the Calcutta session of the Congress in 1928. She later became associated with the revolutionary movement, and tried to assassinate tile governer of Bengal, Stanley Jackson, on 6 February 1932 for which she was sentenced to seven years. After Indian independence, she was a member of the Bengal Legislative Assembly from 1946 to 1951.
