Chandraprabha
Chandraprabha, later 18th cent., Assamese princess. Wife of Tamradhwaja, ruler of Kachar, she was exceptionally beautiful, and is one of the most romantic names in the history of Assam. The ruler of Assam, Rudrasimha who wanted to possess her, invaded her husband’s territory and made him a prisoner. She still continued to rule the territory from Khaspur, and by a successful ruse, was able to rescue her husband. She was also a patron of learning and poetry.
