Didda
Didda, 1003, Queen of Kashmir. She was the wife of Kshema Gupta, who was a ruler only in name, and all the authority was exercised by her. After the death of her husband in 958, she became the regent to her son Abhimanyu Gupta, but he too died in 972. She then placed her grandson, Nandi Gupta, on the throne who was murdered three years later. In 980, she herself ascended the throne and ruled with a firm hand till her death, along with her Mongolian lover, Tunga. She had a great passion for intrigue, and led a promiscuous life.
