Kashibai
Kashibai, mid 18th cent., Mahratha princess. Wife of the Peshwa Bajirao (d. 1740) she accompanied her husband on his tour through Rajasthan in 1735. She was later neglected by her husband for his infatuation for Mastani, which led to much domestic disharmony. As widowed mother of her eldest son, Peshwa Balaji Rao, she undertook her famous pilgrimage to the holy places all over India spending some four years in Varanasi, returning to Pune only in May 1747. She was very honourably received by the Rajput rulers, and the Mughal governor.
