Kurma Devi
Kurma Devi, later 12th cent., Rajput princess. A princess of Patan, she was the wife of Samra Singh of Chittor, who was slain in the second battle of Tarain in 1192, fighting against Muhammad Ghuri. She continued to maintain what was left of the kingdom, as regent to her minor son, Karan. She herself led her army of Rajputs against Qutab-ud-Din of Delhi, and defeated him near Amber, in 1196.
