Rajas Bai
Rajas Bai, d.1715, Mahratha princess. Second wife of the Mahratha ruler, Rajaram (d. 1700) she put her rival Tarabai and her rival’s son Shivaji II in confinement, and placed her own son, Sarnbhaji, on the throne of Chhatrapati in 1714. Rajas Rai and her son were equally hostile to Raja Shahu who had retained from Mughal captivity to claim the throne. She along with her son, made peace with Raja Shahu in 1731, which ended the long drawn civil war between them.
