Roy Ellen
Roy Ellen, d. 1960. radical leader. Originally named Ellen Gottschaulk, she became a close associate of M. N. Roy in his revolutionary activities in Europe and Mexico. After the release of M. N. Roy from prison in India on Ilk return, she came to India and married him in 1937, and became his collaborator in ‘ all his political work and radical activities. After the death of her husband (25 Jan. 1954) she was living alone at Dehradun, editing his papers and memoirs. She was murdered on the night of 13 December 1960, by some robbers who broke into her house. She also wrote a book along with her husband on Non-Cooperation in 1923 under the pen name Santi Devi.
