Ruqaiya Begum
Ruqaiya Begum, d. 1626. Mughal princess. Daughter of Humayun’s brother Hindal, she was the first wife of Akbar. She had no children, and brought up her husband’s grandson, Khurram , later Emperor Jahangir). Mihr-un-Nisa (later Nur Jahan) who was brought to the Mughal court by Jahangir after the death of Sher Afghan, also lived with her.
