Vishnupriya
Vishnupriya, 1500 Vaishnava devotee. Daughter of a rich court priest, she was married to Chaitanya, then called Vishwambara, when his first wife died. When Chaitanya renounced his home to become a monk, she was left alone, and devoted herself to religion and worshipping the memory of her husband, whose follower she became. She observed strict purdah and led a very austere life.
