Christian Dior
Christian Dior (1905-57), French fashion designer. Dior opened his fashion house in 1947 with the very successful ‘New Look’. With its natural waistlines and long full skirts this new style rejected the wartime austerity caused by shortage of material and brought back femininity and glamour. He later created the H and A lines, which also had worldwide success.
