Irving Berlin
Irving Berlin real name Israel Saline (1888-1989), US songwriter and composer, born in Russia. Amongst his most famous songs are ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’, White Christmas’, and ‘Anything You Can Do’. ‘God Bless America’ was awarded a special gold medal by Congress. He also wrote a number of popular musicals, including Annie Get Your Gun (1946).
