ltzhak Perlman
ltzhak Perlman, (1945- ). Israeli violinist. The son of Polish emigre parents, Perlman contracted polio at the age of four. Despire this handicap, he was able to learn the violin and trained at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. He made his debut in that city. in 1963. Famous as a virtuoso violinist, he is well known for his recitals with the pianist Vladimir Ashkenazy.
