W. G. Grace
W. G. Grace (1848-1915), English cricketer. Grace was playing for Gloucestershire by the age of 16. An outstanding all-rounder, he became captain of England and contributed greatly to the development of the modern game. By 1895 he had scored 1(X) centuries. During his career he scored 54.896 runs and took 2876 wickets; he was also the first player to score 2000 runs in a single season.
