When was the FBI set up?
FBI stands for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was founded in 1908 within the Unites States department of Justice. Its headquarters are in Washington D.C. with more than fifty field offices spread throughout the United States.
FBI investigates the violations of federal laws and matters. identifies criminals through their fingerprints, gives assistance to local bodies like municipal, State police departments etc. and also investigates cases of espionage, sabotage etc. Its finger print division holds the fingerprint records of more than 1000 million people.
