Where does our energy come from?
Energy is the capacity for making something happen or doing work as scientists put it. It may be in any form, such as chemical energy, electrical energy etc.
Nearly all of our energy comes to us from the Sun. We can get it directly from the solar power cells or indirectly via fossil fuels, such as coal and oil, which get their energy from the fossilised plants and other organisms of which they are made. The plants get their energy directly from the sun by photosynthesis.
