Why are CDs preferred to other forms of recording?
Sound information, recorded in CDs through digital coding is very accurate, free of noise and gives excellent sound quality. They are smaller than the older records and are thus easier to store. Moreover there is no wear during the playback of a CD as a laser beam is used to play the CD. Infact a CD may never wear out if handled carefully.
