Why is Charles Babbage known as the ‘Father of Computers’?
Charles Babbage (1792-1891) was an English mathematician. He spent most of his life developing the two calculating machines—the Difference Engine and the Analytical Engine.
The Difference Engine started in 1820’s was intended to be used for calculating and printing of simple mathematical tables. The Analytical Engine started in 1833 was in-tended for solving algebraic problems as well as any other arithmetical calculation. Both of these machines could not be completed because of the lack of funds but they formed the basis of the modern computers. That is why Charles Babbage is I known as the ‘Father of Computers’.
