My dear grandparents,

You must be having a relaxing time in your farmhouse. I hope that you both are healthy and in good physical condition. Even here, all is well. Rahim and I are doing well in our studies.

A few days back I mat a dreadful incident of my life. The incident took place while returning horribly from my friend’s birthday party. As it was a little late at night, daddy had come to pick me from my friends’ house after the party got over. As it was late night hours, we could not find any transport. The distance we had to cover was just three streets.

After a few minutes, we saw an open jeep approaching towards us from a distance. It seemed that the boys in the jeep were drunk. The boy who was driving saw us and murmured something to his companions. He slowed down the speed of the jeep. We kept on walking. The jeep slowly approached towards us. My heart was beating faster and faster. We realized that we were just about to face a strange incident.

Five boys surrounded us and started abusing and pushing us. Although daddy was filled with anger, he could not do much. He was alone and my safety was his prime duty. We were about to scream loudly for help. Two boys caught us from behind. They tightly hold our mouths with their hands. One of the boys demanded to remove all our valuable belongings. Initially, we tried to resist through verbal argument but all in vain. Soon one of them removed a knife and threatened us for our lives. We had to surrender. Daddy was forced to hand over his gold chain, ring, expensive wristwatch, and wallet. Soon they drove away in their jeep.

This unique encounter with the robbers was the first and the last of its kind. Even after so many days, its memory scares me like a bad dream. I am thankful to God that the rogues did not harm us in any other way.

Both of you take care of your health and do not worry about us.

Your everloving granddaughter,

Shabana
