The First Lesson of A Mouse
It was little mouse’s first day out , unescorted. First he came across a cockerel. As the mouse had never seen such a bird before, he got scared of its feathers and red crest and ran off. Next, he came across a cat. He liked the animal very much and thought- ‘what a soft fur; what a beautiful body!’
The mouse went back home and told his mother what he had seen.
“You stupid,” said his mother “appearances are often deceptive. The dangerous animal that you save was actually a harmless bird, while the beautiful looking animal is the cat- ‘our enemy.’ Thank God you have returned home, safe and sound.”
