Transfer RNA (tRNA)
The length of tRNAs ranges from 65-110 nucleotides with a corresponding molecular weight of 22, 000-37500 Daltons. The tRNA is a single stranded. As a result of intramolecular hydrogen bonding the 5’ to 3’ nucleotide stretch folded into a conformation and forms different loops. The various loops are: the D-loop, anticodon loop, variable loop or arm, TøC loop and the acceptor system, each having its own function.
