How is ‘cake’ different from ‘pastry’?
A Cake is a soft, sweet food usually made from flour, sugar, eggs, cherries, baking powder etc. It may or may not have icing on top. The mixture is baked either in a large block and served in slices or in smaller size for individual servings. Pastry is a dough of flour, fat, milk and water used as a base and covering in baked dishes such as pies. Pastry is, more soft and spongy than cake and has icing on it.
