Why are older people more prone to fractures?

Bones become porous and brittle with age. They no longer remain hard as osteoporosis or reduced amount of bone tissue leads to softening of the bones. The body’s ability to absorb calcium de-creases with age. Some old people also lose calcium because of inactivity and lack of exercise.
