Why are the windmills mounted on top of tall poles?
Continuous flow of air is a must for the windmill to work and produce energy.
The wind blows more steadily at heights than it does near the ground. Also maximum utilisation can be made from windmills perched high above the ground because there is the least hindrance from tall buildings and trees to the flow of wind at such heights.
That is why windmills are mounted on top of tall poles.
